Congratulations on your engagement! Although planning a wedding can be stressful, the Catholic Church is here to support you on your journey as you begin your new life together.
To get the ball rolling, the first step is to contact your local Catholic parish community or the church where you wish to get married. If you are unsure where your local parish is, you can find that information here. Once you make contact, the parish will be able to help you through the next steps. If both of you are Catholic, you may contact either one of your parish priests.
Marriage can be an opportune time to re-connect with God and the Church as you prepare for this new stage of life. Please do not hesitate to discuss your situation with the priest as this will aid him in supporting you and your future spouse.
Your priest will also ask you to undertake a marriage preparation program to help you prepare for your married life together. More information about marriage preparation options can be found here.
