Our desire for Christian unity and peace among all peoples is inspired by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and has long been an area of focus in the Church.
Through work done in the areas of ecumenical and interfaith relations, the Melbourne Catholic community seeks to extend and build bonds of friendship, share meaningful and constructive dialogue and promote respect for all peoples.
We engage with those from other Christian and faith communities in many areas, including those of mutual understanding and promote a joint witness of the importance of religious faith in our society. Through these efforts, we seek to serve society by cultivating charity, peace and goodwill throughout the community.
For over 50 years, the Ecumenical and Interfaith Commission has served the Archdiocese of Melbourne and our partners in dialogue, by promoting ecumenism and interfaith relations and undertaking key work in this area. For further information, please contact eic@cam.org.au.
