The story of the Melbourne Catholic community can be told through the creation, life and ongoing vitality of our local parish communities.

Our parishes are made up of people—many and varied—of all ages, cultures and backgrounds, from across the greater Melbourne area. Coming from all walks of life, we are united by our faith and our love for God and neighbour. Geographically large, our Archdiocese is made up of over 200 parishes in an area as vast as Yarraville to Yea, Craigieburn to Croydon, Geelong to Greensborough, Healesville to Hadfield, Bayside to Boronia, Dromana to Deer Park.

Our parish communities form a spiritual and physical base where we care for one another and the wider community, worship together, celebrate the sacraments and share our lives together. Each parish provides a concrete place in the world for local communities of love and care. Whether the parish story is one of ‘horse-back’ ministry in rustic beginnings or a current cosmopolitan complex, the parish is always a place of sacred exchange. Our Catholic parishes are a visible sign that even here on earth—the Father’s house has many rooms.

You are most welcome to join us at one of our parish communities at any time.
